Over the last few months, we have been busy talking to retailers, customers and other important partners, as well as thoroughly exploring the ever-changing pet insurance market. We found that over the past few years, more and more companies have started to offer pet insurance and the many different ways products are described has created confusion among pet owners. With this in mind, we are delighted to announce that we have given our existing policies a make-over to introduce some new and improved benefits, and to make them easier for pet owners to understand.



Introducing 3 easy-to-understand policies to choose from:

Petplan Ultimate - Our most comprehensive Coverered for Life® plan with exclusive additional benefits and up to £12,000 vet fee cover for complete peace of mind. Maximum protection for maximum reassurance

Petplan Classic - Our most popular plan providing comprehensive Covered for Life® pet insurance for accidents plus short-term and ongoing illnesses, with a choice of vet fee benefit levels, up to £4,000 or £7,000. The original Covered for Life® policy

Petplan Essential - 12-month policy providing high quality 12-month cover for accidents and short-term illnesses. Petplan quality at an affordable price. This product could be ideal for older pets as there is no upper age limit



So what does this mean for retailers?

  • There are no changes to 4 weeks free vouchers
  • You should continue to discuss the difference between Covered for Life®, Maximum Benefit and 12-month policies with customers
  • Existing policyholders will continue to enjoy the benefits of their current product

Whilst Covered for Life® will always be at the heart of what we do, we also understand that this level of cover is not suitable for everyone. Our existing 12-month policy has been available to your customers when Covered for Life® policies have not been suitable and now we have decided to actively promote our refreshed 12-month cover, Petplan Essential, alongside our core products to further support your customers in making the best insurance choice.
